The Manager on Duty has the overall responsibility for the safety at the pool as well as to oversee and manage the operations and activities/events of the Team Sheeper facilities during evening, weekend and holiday hours. The Manager on Duty will provide routine walks through the facility, assist with room set ups, assist in maintenance of the facility, help and assist, when necessary, to provide coverage in others areas of the facility to ensure that quality customer service is provided at all times, provide guidance to employees, to have the ability and ensure the facility is properly secured each evening to safeguard the facility from theft and vandalism. This position reports to the General Manager.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Manager on Duty must be able to work independently, often with limited/no supervision or direction; adhere to safety procedures, practices and policies of the Team Sheeper; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the general public; communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Excellent customer service skills are a must. The Manager on Duty is responsible for the overall safety of the pool, as well as managerial, administrative, facility, aquatics, systems, communications and leadership duties. These duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Front Desk Point of Service – Must know and understand how to assist and troubleshoot any issues
  • Registration System - PerfectMind
  • Certified Lifeguard – May be required to fill in as a lifeguard on an as needed basis
  • Certified Pool Operator
  • Conflict Resolution – Assist and manage any issues with the public or personnel that may arise
  • Purchasing System
  • Swim School Curriculum
  • Maintenance Procedures – Ensure that the facility is clean and safe at all times.
  • City Public Works – Knowledge of how and when to contact the Public Works
  • Emergency Action Plan – Must understand how to initiate any and all emergency procedures
  • Personnel Management – Manage and assess staff to ensure proper coverage for the facilities. This may require adding or delete staff on an as needed basis.
  • Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation procedures

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; an Associate degree, preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a public or private pool or equivalent setting; or experience as an assistant manager
  • Current CPR, AED and First Aid Certification
  • Current Lifeguard Certification
  • Current Certified Pool Operator
